They

For as long as I can remember people have always referred to a particular group of people as they. As I got older I began to wonder and question why people would say this and just who they were. I recall hearing people say, “Well you know, they say it should be done this way.” Another example would be, “they say it’s best not to do that” or “if you really want this job they say it’s best to only do this.” And my least favorite is, “they say you just have to put in your time and wait until the opportunity opens up.” This week we’ll discuss who theyare and why we should ignore them.

Who are they? They are the un-silent majority. They are cynics, people who once were dreamers and now are doubters. The people in this group want you and I to all act and think the same way. They promote and need conformity, for without they are lost. This group wants to keep things the way they’ve always been and that’s very dangerous. Theymake up the majority of the population. They promote fear and negativity to push their agenda and keep the threats at bay. They are afraid that you and I won’t listen to them.They are afraid that others will be better than them.

If they are the majority why should we ignore them? This group should be ignored because they only want what’s best for them. They are only interested in maintaining the status quo. Any change poses a threat to the control this group has established. They want to protect the old order and fear changes brought by youthful energy. We should ignore this group because they are cynics. We should use their doubt as motivation to push us further. When we choose to ignore the negativity, doubt, and fear that are used we take away the power and control this group possesses.

What the world needs more of are people who are free and independent thinkers. Too many people are raised into thinking and believing like they do. Too many people today lack self-formed opinions. People can’t and don’t want to think for themselves. Too many people just accept and believe what is promoted in the mainstream media. Many people are just like sheep and they are the herders.
