Warren Buffet Gifts $43M Of Berkshire Hathaway Stock To Charities

The eight​ gifts disclosed this week​ are part of Buffett's longterm plan to give away his nearly $85 billion fortune.

OMAHA, NE — Warren Buffett has donated about $43 million of Berkshire Hathaway stock since last summer, $30 million of which went to a single, anonymous charity. The gifts of Class B Berkshire stock were revealed in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission this week.

The eight gifts disclosed this week are part of Buffett's longterm plan to give away his nearly $85 billion fortune. They were made between July and this week and most went to unnamed charities. One gift of 100 Class B shares went to an individual.

Buffett plans to give most of his Berkshire stock to five foundations with the biggest share going to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
