Code Ninjas, Children’s Coding Center in Papillion

Code Ninjas Center Teaches Kids Coding, Robotics, Math, Logic, and Problem Solving Skills in a Fun, Welcoming Atmosphere

As interest and demand for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields grow, Code Ninjas of Papillion, a learning center which teaches children computer coding, is providing children with the critical skills they’ll need for the jobs of the future. The center is located at 754 Gold Coast Drive, Suite 113.

The Papillion location is owned and operated by husband-wife team, Ed and Katie Barta. Ed works in IT training, creating curriculum and code for a multinational technology company, while Katie manages the day to day operations of Code Ninjas Papillion. Ed is a military veteran, having served in the United States Air Force from 1998-2006. He took away life lessons and learned leadership skills that he plans on applying to the business. The couple has three young children, who inspired them to open a Code Ninjas location in Papillion.

“Our oldest son never had much of an interest in sports but he has always had an interest in coding,” Ed said. “When we realized there weren’t many extra-curricular activities to fulfill that need for him and other children in the area, we decided to bring Code Ninjas to Papillion.”

Papillion children ages 7-14 can visit the Code Ninjas center to learn how to code in a fun, non-intimidating way — by playing and building their own video games with peers in a social environment. In addition to coding, children gain skills in robotics, math, logic, and problem solving. The game-based curriculum and welcoming atmosphere enables kids to have fun, while parents see tangible results.

Code Ninjas offers a variety of opportunities for children to get involved, including after school programs, camps, and Parents Night Out events on weekends. As children learn and master new skills, they progress from white belt to black belt, receiving colored-coded wristbands to recognize their achievements. By the time a child finishes the program, they will publish a real game in the Google play store.

Code Ninjas founder and CEO David Graham is a professional software developer who previously owned a successful chain of coding camps for adults., After numerous inquiries from parents, Graham realized there was an unmet demand to teach children coding skills. He launched the Code Ninjas brand in 2016.

“Parents want their children to learn the critical skills that they’ll need in the future, but it also has to be fun for kids. Code Ninjas has found that sweet spot where kids have fun and parents see results, and we’re truly excited to be sharing our unique concept with Papillion and surrounding communities,” said Graham.
