Event Offers Professionals Mandatory Credits as Deadline Looms

Lung Association event offers continuing education credits for nurses, respiratory therapists

Today, the American Lung Association in Nebraska announced that it will offer continuing education credits for nurses and respiratory therapists at the LUNG FORCE Expo on October 23.

In Nebraska, nurses are required to have at least 20 contact hours of continuing education every two years and respiratory therapists are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education annually. The deadline for submitting nursing credits is October 31.

“Nurses in our state are required to submit their continuing education by the end of this month, so this is a fantastic opportunity for nurses from all over the state to get their last hours in by the deadline,” said Erin Smith, health promotions specialist for the Lung Association. “On top of meeting their requirements, these healthcare professionals will learn about hot topics like e-cigarettes and vaping, as well as the newest research and treatments for lung disease so they can better care for their patients every day.”
