National Able Network Appoints New Chief Program Officer

Matthew Weis to oversee training and workforce programs in the Midwest

Omaha, Nebraska (March 2020) – National Able Network, Inc., one of the nation’s leading workforce development organizations, announced the appointment of Matthew Weis as its Chief Program Officer. In this role, Mr. Weis will oversee National Able Network’s workforce and training services which impact nearly 75,000 individuals annually across the Midwest as well as business support programs.

“It is critical to ensure that our programs and services remain on the cutting edge of innovation as the needs of our communities evolve and change over time,” said Bridget Altenburg, National Able Network’s President & CEO, “Matt has an extensive track record of designing and leading programming that supports our mission which is guided through the lens of equity. Myself and our board of directors are thrilled to welcome him into this new role.”

Mr. Weis joined National Able Network in 2014 as Senior Program Director and managed programs and services that help individuals enter careers in high-growth industries. In this capacity, Mr. Weis grew National Able Network’s signature IT Career Lab program threefold, leading geographic expansion, and bringing new innovations to National Able Network, including launching one of Illinois’ most unique apprenticeships offerings for the information technology industry.

With national unemployment at 3.6 percent[1], significant growth in skilled occupations is creating a shortage of skilled workers to fill in-demand occupations. “National Able Network is a vital talent acquisition resource for businesses across the Midwest,” Mr. Weis said, “Our programs are designed to create pipelines of highly-skilled workers in growing industries and occupations to meet the need of our business partners and strengthen our communities.”
