For many students, elementary Next Level Learning will conclude June 30. Due to staffing challenges, elementary Next Level Learning in July will consolidate to 12 sites, serving a total of approximately 2,160 students. Because the current elementary enrollment for July exceeds that number, eligibility will be based on a student’s academic needs, similar to a traditional summer school. Families of eligible students are receiving direct communication about the enrollment process.
It is important to note, this update affects only elementary Next Level Learning in July. Secondary Next Level Learning will proceed in June and July as planned. Elementary Next Level Learning in June will proceed as planned with all students who enrolled. Summer opportunities provided by community partners at schools will proceed as planned. Community partners will work directly with families enrolled in their programming on next steps.

Our district aspired to offer – and worked diligently to deliver – in-person learning opportunities for any student who wished to participate this summer. As we all work to move forward through challenging times, we were heartened to see the interest from families. Our district will serve approximately 17,656 students in Next Level Learning through the summer, a 36% increase over a traditional year.
All students will continue to have access to learning materials through Scholastic and their district-provided and internet-connected iPad, which a family may keep at home over the summer.
