3-Year-Old Boy Found Dead; Mother, Boyfriend In Custody: LVMPD
The death of Daniel Theriot has turned into a criminal investigation, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says.

LAS VEGAS, NV— A mother and her boyfriend were arrested in connection to the death of of 3-year-old boy Daniel Theriot, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced on Monday.
Theriot's body was found in a remote area of Lake Mead National Park, according to a Fox5Vegas reporter Alyssa Deitsch. His 20-year-old mother and her 40-year-old boyfriend— Theriot's father— are in custody, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported Theriot was last seen Sunday at Sunset Park, located on East Sunset Road, at 8:45 a.m. Police said Theriot was possibly in severe emotional distress at the time of his disappearance.

The search for Theriot was called off on Sunday and authorities determined Theriot was never at Sunset Park, according to KSNV News 3 reporter Michelle Velez.
Authorities at a Monday morning press conference believe Theriot was killed about 12 hours before he was reported missing, the Review Journal reports. This case has turned into a criminal investigation, authorities say.
