Las Vegas Moped Driver Fatally Struck By Teen Driver: Cops

A vehicle ran a red light, resulting in the death of a 62-year old woman on Tuesday.

LAS VEGAS, NV - One person is dead after a collision involving a vehicle and a moped on E. Bonanza Rd. and N. Linn Ln. The accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police release.

According to the report, a 17-year old male was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra on Bonanza Rd. and ran a red light at the intersection. At the same time, a 62-year old woman was driving a moped through the intersection and was hit by the car. The woman was transported to University Medical Center but was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, according to the report. An 11-year old who was also in the vehicle was suffered minor injuries. The fatality is the 133rd traffic fatality LVMPD has responded to in 2017.
