Couple Rescued After Driving Car Into Las Vegas Lake

Two people were rescued after driving a car into a lake in Summerlin Tuesday night, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.

LAS VEGAS, NV - For the second time this year, Las Vegas firefighters had to rescue people who drove into a lake with a vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries occurred late Tuesday night when two people were rescued from a Desert Shores lake near Breakwater Dr. and Port of Call Dr., according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.

When firefighters responded Tuesday just before midnight, two people were standing on top of a car that was underwater roughly twenty feet from the shore. One person told firefighters they could not swim and a small raft was used to rescue them.

Paramedics checked both for injuries. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police also responded to investigate the incident.
