Golden Knights Extend Win Streak To Five Games
The Vegas Golden Knights are now in sole possession of first place in the Western Conference with a 4-1 win over Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Vegas Golden Knights won on Wednesday, beating the Ducks in Anaheim, notching their fifth consecutive win, and taking over complete control of first place in the Western Conference. In a sport rich with tradition, the sun keeps shining on hockey's youngest team.
The Tampa Bay Lightning (54 points), who the Golden Knights beat 4-3 on Dec. 19, are the only team in the NHL with more points than Vegas' 50. After a convincing 4-1 win in Anaheim Tuesday night the Golden Knights now have the Western Conference's best record at 24-9-2. They're 9-0-1 in their last 10 games.
With Malcolm Subban in net (27 saves on 28 shots) the Golden Knights got goals from Cody Eakin, William Karlsson, David Perron, and Shea Theodore in the win. The expansion Golden Knights are now 3-0 against the Ducks this season.

The Ducks jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the first two minutes of the game. From there, Subban kept the game close until the offense came to the rescue.
"Everytime we seem to get good goaltending performances on the road and that's the reason why we can win some hockey games," Golden Knights' head coach Gerard Gallant told reporters after the game.

"They had a big push in the first and (Subban) played one of his best game and he kept us in it early and we had our push and kept getting better and eventually got the win," said Erik Haula after the game.
Playing for the first time in four days, the Golden Knights picked up after the Christmas break where they left off and are playing arguable the best hockey in the NHL right now.
"We try to battle and work hard every night and tonight we found a way," Gallant said. "We didn't start the game off great, I thought the first eight minutes we were sloppy, but after that I thought we played a great game and a great road game and we found a way to get two big points."
Gallant summed up what every Golden Knight fan and player has felt this season.
"We come to the rink to try and have fun and win hockey games," he said.
Vegas plays again tonight (Thursday, Dec. 28) in Los Angeles against the Kings, who are second, behind the Golden Knights, in the Western Conference's Pacific Division with 48 points.
