Hit And Run Kills Pedestrian Wednesday Night In Las Vegas

Police are looking for a suspect who abandoned a vehicle two miles away from a fatal hit-and-run collision Wednesday night.

LAS VEGAS, NV - A hit and run in Las Vegas Wednesday night left a pedestrian dead. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on E. Charleston Blvd.

According to a Metro release, the driver of a 1999 Chrysler LHS struck and killed a 62-year old pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing the street, but was not in a crosswalk, police said. The driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle two miles away, where police found it. The pedestrian died at University Medical Center.

Police are now looking for the suspect who witnesses described as a thin, black male wearing a black shirt and camouflage shorts. Anyone with information is asked to call LVMPD at 702-828-4060 or 702-385-5555.

The death was the 38th traffic-related fatality LVMPD has investigated in 2018.
