Internal Candidates Now Being Considered For CCSD Superintendent
Clark County School District released names of 14 internal candidates who will be considered for the district's next superintendent.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Initially, four candidates were set to interview to become the next superintendent of Clark County School District. Then, the district's Board of Trustees decided that wasn't inclusive enough, and voted to expand the field in a meeting last week. After that decision, one of the four candidates dropped out, bringing the total to three. On Monday, the district announced the names of fourteen more candidates that have been added to the pool. As it now stands, 17 people, now including internal candidates, are being considered to lead the country's fifth largest school district.
According to the agenda for a special meeting on Thursday, April 19, the search for CCSD's next superintendent will now include "selecting one or more current and/or former Clark County School District employee candidates to be interviewed." Those candidates are:
- Eva M. White
- Jesse Welsh
- Dr. Michele Robinson
- Antonio Rael
- April Lealia Key
- Timothy S. Hughes
- Mollie Ann Holt
- John S. Haynal
- Deborah Gruner
- Robert A. Gerye
- Jhone M. Ebert
- Mark Coleman
- Cody O. Claver
- Dr. Mike Barton
The existing list of three external candidates are Donald T. Haddad, Shonda Huery Hardman, and Jesus F. Jara.
