Las Vegas Loves Love Songs

No city enjoys a good love song more than Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV - Las Vegas: the Entertainment Capital of the World. No that's not it. The Wedding Capital of the World. Nah, still not there. Ah yes, Las Vegas: the Love Song Capital of the World.

Okay, maybe it's just the Love Song Capital of the United States. Regardless, Sin City has a new title to boast ahead of Valentine's Day. Las Vegas streams more love songs on a per capita than any other U.S. city of at least 100,00 people, according to a list released by Amazon Music on Tuesday. It's the second consecutive year that Las Vegas tops the list.

It doesn't appear that they feel much love on the eastern half of the country. Only two cities east of the Mississippi River - New York and Chicago - made the top 10. America's most lovey-dovey music cities are as follows:

So then, what to do if you're flying into Las Vegas this week and the Lionel Ritchie playlist you've been listening to for the duration of your flight suddenly has you in the mood to wed a stranger, or someone you know only casually? You do the natural thing and make sure you get a marriage license before even leaving the terminal. McCarran International Airport has opened a pop-up marriage license booth in the baggage claim area of Terminal 1. The booth opened on Feb. 9 and will remain open until Feb. 17.
