Live Stream Little League West Regional: Nevada vs. Hawaii

The Honolulu Little Leaguers will play the Silverado West Little Leaguers on Thursday.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — Hawaii and Nevada are poised to play for an automatic championship berth Thursday in the Little League West Regional tournament. The Honolulu Little Leaguers (2-0) will play Silverado West (1-0) at 9 p.m. in San Bernardino. The loser will play Northern California in an elimination game Friday.

Honolulu comes into the game riding a two-game winning streak. The boys handled Arizona 7-3 on Sunday and followed that up a day later with a resounding 8-2 drubbing over Utah. The offense has been powered by Sean Yamaguchi and Bruce Boucher. Yamaguchi has a collected a team-high four hits in the tournament — including the team's lone home run — and is tied for the lead with Boucher at three RBIs. Yamaguchi has also scored three runs. As impressive as he's been, the pitching has been equally stellar. The team has a sparkling 1.50 ERA collectively and 23 strikeouts. Aukai Kea has hurled 5.1 innings and allowed just two runs — one earned — on two hits, two walks and two hit batsmen. He's also struck out a whopping 10 batters, a team high.

Silverado West comes into the game having won the only game its played, narrowly edging Southern California on Monday 5-3. Broc Snider and Oliver Makanui lead the charge offensively. Snider knocked in two RBIs and Makanui added another to go with a run scored. Defensively, Nevada's pitching was also stout. Connor Apeceche and Kekoa Young combined to throw six innings and struck out nine batters. Apeceche allowed no runs and just one hit while Young allowed three earned runs on one hit and five walks.
