Meet an “Amazing” Who’s Found the Secret to Happiness: Giving

Beverly Saperstein, 80, loves volunteering, says that it contributes so much happiness to her life she never wants to stop.

Beverly Saperstein, age 80, was awarded the prestigious “Nevada Senior Citizen of the Year” in 2017.

She started her work-life with Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Services. After her marriage to her husband, who worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, she found herself in Munich, Germany for a number of years. That's where her volunteering career took off. Beverly created recreational activities for the service people stationed there, and since then, has volunteered in every city she has lived in.

In Las Vegas, her home for over 25 years, she’s volunteered at the Liberace Museum, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Springs Preserve, the Neon Museum and Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, to name but a few. She loves volunteering, says that it contributes so much happiness to her life she’d never want to stop, and that it energizes her even when she’s tired. Truly the gift that keeps on giving!
