Merryhill Elementary School Donates Halloween Costumes and Candy

Students held a costume and candy drive in support of nonprofit organization The Shade Tree

Students at Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently held a Halloween costume and candy drive in support of local nonprofit The Shade Tree. Students collected enough donations to fill the entire trunk of a minivan – including more than 25 costumes and 20 large bags of candy. The donations will help provide Halloween fun to local children in need. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping other children in their community.

The Shade Tree provides safe shelter to abused and homeless women, as well as women with children in crisis. The organization also offers life-changing services promoting stability, dignity and self-reliance.
