Merryhill Elementary School Holds Earth Day Musical Tribute

Students at Merryhill Elementary School Summerlin in Las Vegas celebrated Earth Day with a musical tribute to Earth. Leading up to Earth Day, students learned about African music that highlights the importance of caring for Earth. Students in younger grades created their own instruments out of recycled materials to play along as they sang, while fourth and fifth grade classes accompanied them with drums and xylophones.

Through this activity, students learned the importance of caring for Earth and how other cultures show their appreciation for the planet. Merryhill Elementary School teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
