Argument Among Roommates Led To Thursday Morning Shooting: Police

A shooting in the western Las Vegas Valley left one person dead Monday morning, police said.

LAS VEGAS, NV - A person died at University Medical Center after being shot Monday morning, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said. According to LVMPD, the shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. on Powell Plateau Ct., near the intersection of Grand Canyon Dr. and Hacienda Ave.

Homicide detectives with LVMPD are responding to the scene. No other information was immediately available.

UPDATE (April 24, 11:30 a.m.): According to LVMPD, 49-year old Tuan Ngo was arrested and booked into Clark County Detention Center where he is facing a murder charge for the incident.

A Metro release states that Ngo got into an argument with his roommate in the backyard of their home. Ngo then shot the gun in the air to "intimidate" his roommate, police said, which led to a physical altercation. During the altercation the gun went off and struck the victim. Police said Ngo was arrested without incident.
