Project Neon: Stretch Of I-15 Shutting Down Tonight

Project Neon's "Main Event" will lead to closures Downtown tonight.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Project Neon will shut down a stretch of Interstate 15 headed northbound tonight. The closure will take place between Sahara Ave. and Charleston Blvd. from 11 p.m. tonight, March 6, until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7.

The closure is part of Project Neon's "Main Event," which is the last major phase of construction for Las Vegas' $1 billion infrastructure facelift.

  • I-15 northbound lane restrictions between Sahara Ave. and D St.
  • I-15 northbound to the U.S. Highway 95 southbound ramp will be closed from 9 p.m., March 6 until 5 a.m., March 7.
  • I-15 northbound to the U.S. Highway 95 northbound ramp will be closed from 12 a.m., March 7 until 2 a.m., March 7.
  • I-15 northbound off-ramp to Charleston Blvd. westbound will be closed from 9 p.m., March 6 until 6 a.m., March 7.
  • I-15 northbound off-ramp to D St. will be closed from 9 p.m., March 6 until 6 a.m., March 7.

It may seem like everything is under construction at the Spaghetti Bowl, but that's not the case. Construction has been finalized in several places and several new ramps have been opened recently or will open soon. They are:

  • Martin Luther King Blvd./Pinto Ln. on-ramp to I-15 southbound opened at 6 a.m., March 6.
  • I-15 southbound off-ramp to Charleston Blvd. reopened at 6 a.m., March 6.
  • I-15 northbound off-ramp to Charleston Blvd. eastbound will open 6 a.m., March 7.
