Raiders Buy Henderson Land For Practice Facility

The Oakland Raiders will play on Sundays in Las Vegas, but practice during the week in Henderson.

HENDERSON, NV - When the NFL's Oakland Raiders made their bid to relocate to Las Vegas, they championed themselves as an economic incentive for the entire Las Vegas valley. The city of Henderson apparently agrees.

Henderson City Council approved the sale of a piece of land, originally appraised at $12 million to the Raiders for $6 million. The 50 percent discount comes in the name of economic growth for the region, Henderson Mayor Debra March said.

“I think this is a huge return on investment for the investment the city of Henderson is making,” March said during the council meeting, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
