REPORT: FBI Crime Statistics Released for Southern Nevada
Henderson & North Las Vegas Both See Decrease

Out of the three biggest cities that make up most of Southern Nevada, two saw a decrease in violent crimes. Las Vegas, violent crime increaed by more than 200 cases. The FBI's data compares the first 6 months of 2018 with the same time period of 2017.
Though Henderson's violent crime cases decreased, property crimes in Nevada's second largest city increased by more than 400 cases. The City had 16 few rape crimes in 2018. The number of murders remained unchanged at four for each year.
North Las Vegas had 233 fewer property crimes compared to 2017 and 41 fewer violent crimes even though the City had an increase in both rape and murder cases.

Las Vegas statistics show increases in many areas detailed by the report. Violent crime increased by 223 cases, rape went up by 137 cases and property crimes drastically jumped up to 711 more cases between 2017 and 2018. There were two fewer murders in the first 6 months of 2018 than in the same period the previous year.
