Students Raise More Than $1,000 for Local Organizations

Students hosted the Annual Family Fun and Wellness Fair, which raised awareness and funds for childhood illnesses and offered resources

Students at Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently hosted their second annual Family Fun and Wellness Fair to raise awareness for childhood illnesses and provide a forum for organizations to share information and resources with the Las Vegas community. Organizations including Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada, Grant A Gift Autism Foundation, Nevada PEP, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and The Embracing Project had booths at the event, as well as attorneys, a pediatric dentist, children’s arthritis care doctor, mental health counselor and more. Nearly 150 students, their families and community members attended the event, which also featured food trucks, an obstacle course, face painting, games, crafts and more. Through fundraisers leading up to the event, students raised more than $1,000 to benefit the organizations in attendance.
