Suspect In Las Vegas Nail Salon Owner's Killing Identified

Police say a nail salon owner attempting to stop a customer who didn't pay their bill was run over and killed.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Police have released surveillance video and identified the suspect accused of intentionally running over and killing a nail salon owner in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police said the suspect went into a nail salon in the 4900 block of West Flamingo Road on Dec. 29. Police say the woman attempted to pay for a manicure with a fraudulent credit card and when the card didn't work, the woman said she was going to her car to get cash.

Police said the salon owners noticed that the woman was starting to drive away. The owners ran out to stop her and the female owner jumped in front of the suspect's car while her husband was at the back of the car, according to police.

Police say the suspect accelerated through the parking lot and the woman in front of the car was thrown under. The nail salon owner later died at a hospital.

The suspect was identified by Las Vegas police as 21-year-old Krystal Whipple.

Detectives are seeking the public's help in locating Whipple.
