LAS VEGAS, NV - Two people were hospitalized with serious burn injuries following a fire Friday morning in Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. One man's injuries are considered critical, and the other's are considered life threatening, according to a Fire and Rescue release. Both were treated at University Medical Center's burn unit.

Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused a fire that engulfed an eight by ten foot shed near Oakey Blvd. and Las Vegas Blvd. In a press release, Fire and Rescue said dispatchers were told initially that an explosion occurred before the fire. As of Monday, investigators have not determined if an explosion occurred or what role an explosion may have had in the fire, according to Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Tim Szymanski.

The fire was put out within minutes and didn't spread to any nearby buildings. A firefighter sustained an ankle injury during the call and was taken to the trauma center at University Medical Center as part of standard protocol for injuries.
