W. West Allen New National President of Federal Bar Association
Allen, a partner at the Las Vegas office of Howard & Howard, has a long history with the Federal Bar Association.

W. West Allen, a partner at the Las Vegas office of Howard & Howard, has been installed as National President of the Federal Bar Association. During the installation ceremony, Allen remarked, “As President of the FBA, I will remind all lawyers of our oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution and to be engaged in these good causes. We must truly understand what our Constitution teaches. May we all carry on resolutely in the journey to perfect the administration of justice.”
A graduate of Brigham Young University and The John Marshall Law School - Chicago, Allen has been a licensed attorney since 1995 and specializes in intellectual property litigation. He has been included in lists published by Super Lawyers (Mountain States Super Lawyers, 2014-2020; Super Lawyers Top 100 Mountain States Lawyers, 2014, 2018-2019), The Best Lawyers in America (2013-2021), Managing IP magazine, and Nevada Business Magazine (Legal Elite, 2016-2018). He has also played an active role in the local intellectual property legal community, founding the Intellectual Property Section of the Nevada State Bar and was the principal author of Nevada’s Local Patent Rules.
Prior to being installed as National President of the Federal Bar Association, Allen had a long history of being involved with the Federal Bar Association. From 2001-2007, he served on the FBA’s National Council and served on several FBA committees, including the Government Relations Committee; the Nomination and Elections Committees; and the Construction, Bylaws, Rules & Resolution Committee. He was also elected twice to serve as a FBA Circuit Vice President for the Ninth Court and served two terms as the Chair of the Circuit Vice Presidents.

In addition to his work with intellectual property law and with the Federal Bar Association, Allen has been a member of the Opportunity Village Board of Directors since 2008 and has served on the advisory board for Humanitarian Experience for Youth. He also works as a volunteer lawyer for the Children’s Attorney Project, a project by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada that provides legal counsel and representation for abused and neglected children.
