Earthquake Swarm Hits Reno Overnight
The University of Nevada Reno seismological laboratory reported over 90 small earthquakes recorded late Thursday night into Friday morning.

RENO, NV - More than 90 small earthquakes have been recorded in Reno since Thursday night, according to the University of Nevada Reno's seismological laboratory. The earthquakes, though plentiful, were all minor. Only four of the 90 reported earthquakes registered above 2.0 and the largest was a magnitude 2.6. No injuries have been reported. The swarm was recorded near Mt. Rose Highway and I-580.
"The activity notably increased late last night and this morning," Ken Smith, seismic network manager and associate director of the seismological lab said, according to Nevada Today.
"We're monitoring the swarm closely and updating local emergency management officials in case this sequence evolves to a larger, damaging earthquake," Smith said.

In the event of a major earthquake, people should be prepared to survive three days without access to water services, electricity, and access to a grocery store and other city services, officials says.
