Pedestrian Killed In Reno Crash

A pedestrian was struck and killed in a crosswalk Tuesday night, police said.

RENO, NV - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car on S. Virginia St. Tuesday night. The crash was reported around 8:40 p.m. and closed Virginia St. until early this morning.

Reno Police say the pedestrian was struck while attempting to cross a crosswalk after dark. The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. Police said the investigation has not determined if drugs or alcohol were factors, but the driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and cooperated with police, according to an RPD release.

Along with RPD, Reno Fire Department and REMSA responded to the scene. The crash is being investigated by the Major Accident Investigation Team.
