
RENO, NV - The capital cities of Nevada and Texas are now connected. Beginning this spring, travelers can fly directly from Reno to Austin, TX for the first time. The Reno-Tahoe Airport announced the addition of direct service to Texas' capital, which will run twice a week beginning April 10, 2018.
Austin, the capital city of Texas, is home to nearly 1 million people. The Reno airport is just over 30 miles north of Carson City, Nevada's state capital.
Frontier Airlines will fly a 180 seat plane on Tuesdays and Thursdays back and forth between Reno and Austin. Flights will leave Reno on Frontier Airlines at 5:07 p.m. and land in Austin at 10:!6 p.m. local time (Central). On the way back, flights will depart Austin at 2:39 p.m. (Central) and arrive in Reno at 4:17 p.m. Flights are now being offered for $49 each way, the airport said.

“We’ve heard that you want more non-stop access to the Lone Star State,” said Marily Mora, President and CEO of Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. “We’re pleased to now serve Dallas-Fort Worth, Dallas Love Field, Houston seasonally, and now Austin, in the heart of Texas Hill Country.”
