May 1 is Law Day, themed ‘Advancing the Rule of Law Now’

The Washoe County Law Library of the Second Judicial District Court has partnered with the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association to host a special Lawyer in the Library event on Law Day, Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

In order to ensure the safety of the volunteers and participants, the Lawyer in the Library event will all be held virtually, via Zoom. Participants may receive assistance from the comfort of their homes.

Attorneys specializing in Family Law, Civil/General Law, Estates/Probate Law, Bankruptcy/Foreclosure Law, Landlord/Tenant Law, and Pardons and Criminal Records Sealing will volunteer their time to provide participants with free legal assistance. All the volunteer attorneys are members of the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association. 

The Theme for Law Day 2021 is “Advancing the Rule of Law Now.” The Rule of Law is a fundamental concept upholding justice, freedom and representative government and should encourage all of us to fulfill our responsibilities to protect our communities and our democracy.  

The Washoe County Law Library’s mission is to enhance the access to justice by providing information and partnering with outside organizations to help ensure the legal needs of the community are addressed.
