Washoe County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies made contact with, and identified, two non-compliant sex offenders over the weekend.

Carl Geier, 50, was arrested June 4, 2021 when deputies responded to another crime in progress. Geier was not a suspect in that particular crime. When deputies were interviewing Geier – he fled from them on foot. During the interaction, Geier resisted arrest. A less-lethal taser was used in this interaction. Geier is a Tier III sex offender previously convicted for crimes against children. He faces a felony count of being a sex offender who failed to register, second offense; a felony count of being a sex offender who failed annual verification, second offense; a felony count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and a misdemeanor count of obstructing and resisting an officer.
