5 Things: Town Hall Closings, Volunteers and Marijuana

Jumpstart your day with some useful information.

3. Volunteers Wanted: The Amherst Recreation Department offers summer opportunities for volunteer hours to all students going into Grade 9- Grade 12. Their Hartshorn Summer Program is looking for Volunteers for our weekly programs.  These programs run weekly through Aug 16 from 9-12pm at PMEC on Brook Rd in Amherst. Baboosic Lake offers volunteer options as either a Counselor in Training for Summer Camp 8:30-3:00pm weekly or as a Concession Stand volunteer 10:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm weekly. 

4. Patch Fact: Helen of Troy, in Greek mythology, was the most beautiful woman in the world. She was the major cause of the Trojan War, in which Greece defeated the city of Troy.

5. Town Hall closed. The Amherst Town Hall will be closing on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at noon and will be closed on Friday, July 26, 2013 in order for staff to pack and move to temporary office locations.
