Amherst Photographer Earns National Silver Medallion Award

Marsha Vander Mey of Harper Point Photographer won the recognition from the American Society of Photographers last month.

AMHERST, NH — Marsha Vander Mey of Harper Point Photographer was recognized for superior image making with the Silver Medallion Award from the American Society of Photographers for her image "The Prom," according to a press statement. The Medallion Awards were presented at the ASP Annual Awards Gala held January in San Antonio, TX.

These awards go to the top scoring images from the "Best of the Best" amongst Master Photographers.

"The Prom" is one in a series of recreations she calls "The Tradition Continues." She patterned these images after specific works of American artist and legend Norman Rockwell. Mey created these to showcase the tradition of service that is still shown by local establishments.

Mey is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and a member of the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce. She is past President of the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association and chairs the committee for ongoing education.

Mey has won numerous other awards for her work including the Fuji Masterpiece Award and was voted Best Photographer of the Souhegan Refion. Her images have been published in numerous publications and shown in International Exhibitions.
