With the next school year only weeks away, the 2015-16 calendar has been released. Here are some important dates to know during the 2015-2016 Amherst School District calendar.
- Aug. 31: Registration Day - All districts
- Sept. 2: Staff Welcome Back Day - All districts
- Sept. 3: Teacher in-service day
- Sept. 7: Labor Day
- Sept. 8: First day of instruction for students
- Oct. 12: Columbus Day
- Oct. 13: Teacher In-service day
- Nov. 11: Veteran’s Day observed
- Nov. 25 - 27: Thanksgiving recess
- Dec. 24 - Jan. 1: Holiday recess
- Jan. 18, 2016: Martin Luther King Day
- Feb. 22 - 26, 2016: Winter recess
- April 25 - 29, 2016: Spring recess
- May 30, 2016: Memorial Day
The last day of school for Amherst is projected to be June 13, 2016.
