Amherst School District: Important Dates To Know
Before heading back-to-school, here are some important dates families need to know for the 2019-2020 school year.
AMHERST, NH — It's almost time to head back-to-school in Amherst. Here are some important dates that families need to know about for the 2019-2020 school year.
Registration Day for all schools is Monday, Aug. 26, while Teacher Welcome Back Day is Tuesday and Teacher In-Service Day is Wednesday.
The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 3, except for kindergarten at Clark-Wilkins Elementary School.

On Monday, Sept. 10, Late Start/Amherst Middle School open house will be held while the Amherst Middle School Open House is planned for Tuesday, according to the school calender.
The Clark-Wilkins Elementary School will host an open house for pre-K, kindergarten, first-, and second-graders on Monday, Sept. 16, with the open house for third- and fourth-graders scheduled for Tuesday. Souhegan High School's open house is slated for Wednesday.

There will be no school on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 14, or Tuesday, which is a Teacher In-Service Day.
There is also no school on Friday, Nov. 1, a Conference Day, and Veterans Day, which is Monday, Nov. 11.
The Thanksgiving break is Nov. 27, to Nov. 29.
Soughegan has a late start planned for Tuesday, Dec. 9, while Wednesday is a late start for other schools.
The holiday break will be held from Monday, Dec. 23, to Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, Jan. 20.
School will be closed for the New Hampshire first-in-the-nation primary which is tentatively booked by the district for Tuesday, Jan. 21, but is subject to change.
February vacation will run from Monday, Feb. 24, to Friday, Feb. 28, while April vacation is slated for Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 1.
There will be no school on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day.
The Souhegan High School graduation is planned for Friday, June 5, with Thursday, June 11, project as the last day of school. That date is subject to change.
