Get Ready To Go To The Polls On Tuesday, Amherst
The town and school elections, postponed from earlier this year, will be held on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

AMHERST, NH — Voters in Amherst will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote in a number of competitive school and town races, as well as make decisions on budgets and other items.
Polls will be open in Amherst from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at Souhegan High School, 412 Boston Post Road.

There are three candidates seeking two three-year Board of Selectmen seats: John D'Angelo, Raymond Kong, and Danielle Pray.
Three zoning board candidates are also seeking two three-year seats: Timothy Kachmar, Douglas Kirkwood, and Tracy Lee McInnis.

There are three active planning board races.
Three candidates are seeking two three-year seats on the board: William Stoughton, Craig Urquhart, and Christopher Yates.
Five candidates are running for two two-year planning board seats: Peter Hansen, Robert Kula, Arnold Rosenblatt, Thomas Silvia, and Thomas Quinn.
There are also three candidates seeking two one-year planning board seats: Tracie Adams, Eugene Anctil, and Christy Houpis.
Voters will eye 13 town warrant articles including $6 million to purchase open space; a proposed operating budget of nearly $14.9 million (with a default budget of $14.6 million); money for reserve fund transfers; $257,000 for a new fire rescue vehicle and $120,000 for DPW vehicles; $200,000 to complete the police station renovation; and a nonbinding vote calling for fair nonpartisan redistricting.
On the school ballot, Victoria Parisi and Jason White are facing off for a single three-year school board seat while John Glover and Tony LaBranche are challenging each other for a single three-year Souhegan Cooperative School District seat.
Voters have seven local and regional school district warrant articles including a proposal for a $30.4 million local school budget (with a default budget of $30.1 million); a proposal to continue to accept Mont Vernon students at the Amherst Middle School for five years; and a lease agreement and $500,000 capital repairs fund transfer.
Amherst voters will also consider at $19.8 million regional school budget (with a default budget of about $19.4 million) and well as trust fund transfers.
