How Much Snow Will Amherst Get?

The Amherst town offices will reopen on Thursday following the New Year's Day holiday.

Major snow storm on the way: Amherst residents should get ready to dig out of another big snow storm that could leave anywhere from 8- to 12 inches of snow in its wake by the time it winds down on Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. No Texting and Driving pledge drive underway:
Fire Chief Mark Boynton has launched a pledge driving asking members of the public to not text and drive following the death of retired fire chief John Bachman on Dec. 23.

Fatal hit and run driver due back in court: Travis Hobbs, 20, of Mont Vernon, who is charged with negligent homicide after police say he struck and killed John Bachman with his car is scheduled to return to Nashua District Court for a probable cause hearing on Monday, Jan. 6.
