John Bachman's Death Spurs No Texting and Driving Pledge Drive

Happy New Year! Welcome 2014. Big snow storm coming on Thursday.

Happy New Year: Today is Wednesday, Jan. 1, New Year's Day. The Town Offices, public library and the transfer station will be closed on the first day of 2014, but will reopen on Thursday.

No Texting and Driving pledge drive underway:
Fire Chief Mark Boynton has launched a pledge driving asking members of the public to not text and drive following the death of retired fire chief John Bachman on Dec. 23.

More snow on the way:

Fatal hit and run driver due back in court: Travis Hobbs, 20, of Mont Vernon, who is charged with negligent homicide after police say he struck and killed John Bachman with his car is scheduled to return to Nashua District Court for a probable cause hearing on Monday, Jan. 6.
