A Love Letter To Sean Fitzgerald

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Becky Fitzgerald's love poem to her husband, Sean:

To Sean:

To the man that I love, my husband and my best friend;
To my partner in love and in life, my forever until the end.

In just two years of marriage, it seems like we’ve been through it all;
The challenges have been many, the problems have been big and not small.

We’ve seen many days of sickness, there have been trials and some tears;
We were forced to stand together, and together we’ve faced our biggest fears.

After more than two years of searching, the perfect house we did find,
In the beautiful small town of Amherst, where the people are kind.

Moving was quite the ordeal, but it was a chance we had to take;
With less than one week to close, I fell in New York, and my poor hip I did break.

Moving with a broken hip was not easy, that much is true;
But our friends and family were all there to help, and what else could we do?

Now it is almost five months later, and yes, I still have a few things left to unpack;
But even given all the things we’ve been through, there isn’t much that I’d give back.

Our future will always be an adventure, of this much you can be sure;
We have so much ahead of us, let’s wait and see what the future has in store.

Please just continue to hold my hand, through the twists and turns of life;
and I promise that I will stand here beside you always, as your friend, your confidant, and your wife.
