Pursuit By Amherst Police Ends In Nashua At Hayward's Ice Cream
A pursuit Friday started on Route 101A in Amherst with a suspect traveling several miles on a flat tire. It ended at Hayward's Ice Cream.
AMHERST, NH — Amherst police attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 101A Friday shortly after 2 p.m. According to radio transmissions, the vehicle was being stopped for a possible DWI.
The vehicle when passing 101A and Boston Post Road, sped up as two Amherst cruisers were behind it with their lights and sirens activated.
The vehicle continued to increase speed staying on 101A and onto Amherst Street in Nashua. Speeds according to the officer behind the vehicle were at 90 mph. The vehicle continued on Amherst Street, turned into Peters Nissan, struck a vehicle, and then exited the parking lot.

Amherst police, still in pursuit, reported the vehicle passed on the right going up onto the curb and grass and lost its front passenger side tire. The vehicle entered the Everett Turnpike and Amherst Police asked for assistance from New Hampshire State Police.
The vehicle exited the highway at Exit 4 and turned left, and was at speeds reported as 40 mph. The vehicle passed Lund Road continuing onto Robinson Road. Nashua police cruisers were behind the Amherst cruisers but Amherst police were in control of the pursuit.

The suspect vehicle turned into a busy parking lot at Hayward’s Ice Cream and was pinned in by two Amherst cruisers. A white man was removed from the vehicle.
The vehicle which was a grey or silver Kia sustain heavy damage, including a shredded front tire. The license plate given during the pursuit was listed to a Toyota sedan.
No one was injured in the pursuit, and one person was taken in handcuffs from the scene.
