SHS Girls Soccer Advances to Div. II Final
And a fudge tasting, a turkey dinner fundraiser, Josh Logan on 'The Voice' and today's forecast.

Congratulations in order. Congratulations to the Souhegan High School girls varsity soccer team for a hard fought win in the semi-final game against Hanover High School on Wednesday evening. Ending regulation in a 2-2 tie, the ladies battled it for two overtimes before entering a five-kick penalty kick shoot-out, at the end of which, they remained tied 2-2. Going to a single-kick, head-to-head playoff, Rachel Facey struck for Souhegan, who won the game 3-2. They will play Pembroke for the Div. II state championship at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.

Taste the an assortment of fudge (all natural, made in NH), paint pottery for just $5 and get a head-start on Christmas gifts (with a promise of no Christmas music), or just come and socialize. Win your Thanksgiving dinner. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it's almost time for the Merrimack Public Library's annual Turkey Shoot fundraiser. The Turkey Shoot isn't as violent as it sounds. It is a night of raffles in which attendees can win some or, if they are lucky, all of their Thanksgiving dinner. The Turkey Shoot is Thursday, Nov. 21 from 7-8:45 p.m. Read more about the fundraiser on Library Trustee Wendy Thomas' blog on Patch, and consider heading to your neighboring town to try your hand a some delicious food.
Weather watch. Rainy weather expected today. The National Weather Service is calling for showers, mainly before 4 p.m. and a high near 59. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Tonight is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 32.
