Sports Authority Starts Going-Out-of-Business Sales
New Hampshire stores in Amherst, Manchester, Nashua, and Salem are holding liquidation sales beginning this week.

All 450 Sports Authority stores, including the four locations in New Hampshire, will begin liquidation sales, according to press reports.
The sales are likely to be βa bonanza for consumers looking for cheap hiking boots or running shirts,β according to a story on Fortune.com, as shoppers look for bargains.
Stores in Amherst, Manchester, Nashua, and Salem will start liquidating items this week as part of a bankruptcy process filed in March.

The company had originally hoped to close a third of its underperforming stores and reorg out of bankruptcy, according to press reports in March but it abandoned that idea earlier this month. The sales could last through August, according to court documents.
Fortune.com also reported that Dickβs Sporting Goods may buy a dozen or two Sports Authority locations but the exact locations, or how many jobs could be saved,Β were unknown at post time.
