Driver in fatal hit and run arraigned: The Telegraph reported Tuesday that Travis Hobbs, 20, of Mont Vernon was arraigned on a charge of negligent homicide in Nashua District Court after he turned himself in to Amherst Police and told them that he struck retired fire chief John Bachman on Monday after thought he hit a snowbank. Town Hall now open: The Amherst town offices will reopen on Thursday after being closed for Christmas. Meanwhile, Amherst public schools are on Christmas break until Jan. 6.
Some snow on the way: According to the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, the Amherst area will get hit with about 1- to 3 inches of snow on Thursday afternoon and evening with another chance for snow this weekend.
