Winter Carnival Date Set

The annual Winter Carnival will be held on Feb. 9 on Middle Street.

The annual Amherst Recreation Winter Carnival will be held in the village in just one month.

The Board of Selectmen recently voted to hold the annual event on Sunday, Feb. 9, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Middle Street, according to Torrey Demache, the selectmen's administrative assistant. The board approved the Winter Carnival date during Dec. 30 meeting, she said.

Last year, the Amherst Recreation Department offered fun family activities that included ice skating, snowshoeing, snow sculpture/ snowman contest where people could either create your snow sculpture at the carnival or submit a photo in advance.
