5 Things To Know In Bedford: Trump Rally, School Policies

A Trump rally, student parking passes being available, and school policies are some of the top five things to know in Bedford this week.

BEDFORD, NH — President Donald Trump will be in nearby Manchester this week, and the Bedford School Board will discuss policies on meals and school suspensions. In addition, student parking passes will soon be available. Here are the top five things to know in Bedford this week.

  1. President Donald Trump will hold a rally this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. Presidential Candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden will hold a counter rally at the Portland Pie Company in downtown Manchester at 6 p.m., according to the Union Leader.
  2. On Monday, the Bedford School Board will discuss a policy on school meals, and will consider giving the superintendent authority to extend suspensions for more than 10 days. The budget and students' academic performance will also be discussed.
  3. The Planning Board is also meeting on Monday. The board will discuss plans for a 72-seat restaurant and bakery and 2,620 square feet of retail on Route 101. Plans for a bank on Kilton Road and a new convenience store on South River Road are also on the agenda.
  4. Student parking passes in Bedford are available for sale starting Wednesday, at 8 a.m. at the town offices. Bring the student's driver's license, the completed form and the choice of parking location. Parking spots are available on first come, first served basis. Non-students can also apply.
