Alzheimer’s Association To Host Brain Healthy Nutrition Talk

BEDFORD, NH - If you're struggling to manage Alzheimer’s or another dementia, research has clearly shown that staying active is the most powerful step you can take.

To provide those living with mild Alzheimer’s disease or a memory disorder with opportunities for social engagement, the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter will host a dinner to at the Alzheimer's Association's Bedford office on Wednesday, Apr. 25.

This free engagement opportunity is part of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Alz Meet Up program. It is intended for individuals with mild memory loss and their care partners.

"We are excited to start offering engaging activities year round through this program," said Melody McLaughlin, Manager of Early Stage Engagement Programs at the Alzheimer's Association. "We want to create a stigma free environment for diagnosed individuals and their care partners that will also present an opportunity to form much needed bonds."

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Alzheimer's Association, 166 S. River Road Suite 20, Bedford. Attendees will learn about the benefits of including herbs and spices in daily diet to promote brain health with Dr. Nancy B. Emerson Lombardo, PhD. Nancy has worked for over 35 years in the fields of Alzheimer’s disease and services and is a co-founder of both the national Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Disease International. Currently she is CEO of the Brain Health and Wellness Center® and Adjunct Research Assistant Professor of Neurology Boston University School of Medicine, Dept. of Neurology. During the past 2 decades she has developed lifestyle interventions to helping people reduce their risk of Alzheimer’s disease and to improve the lives of those already living with Alzheimer's.
