Bedford To Consider Special Election
An upcoming public hearing in Bedford will address whether to hold a special election in light of state Rep. Michael Trento resigning.

BEDFORD, NH — An upcoming public hearing will address whether the town should hold a special election in light of state Rep. Michael Trento's resignation. Trento, who represented Bedford, resigned last month. Now, the town must decide whether to hold a special election to choose a candidate to serve the rest of his two-year term.
The public hearing will take place Wednesday, July 17 at 7 p.m. in the Bedford meeting room, at 10 Meetinghouse Road. If the town decides to conduct the special election, it would still require approval from the New Hampshire Executive Council. The special election would likely not occur until this fall, Town Clerk Sally Kellar previously said. A primary election would be required if more than one candidate per party signs up to run, she said.
