Bedford Police Warn Residents After Bears Spotted
Bedford Police are warning area residents to be wary after a bear and her cubs were seen last week.
BEDFORD, NH - Bedford Police are warning residents to be vigilant after a bear mother and her three cubs were seen on Forest Drive. In a Facebook post, the Bedford Police posted several pictures of bears seen in the area in the past.
Police are reminding people not to feed the bears and to remove bird feeders and trash cans. They said taking pictures of the bears is OK but residents need to keep a safe distance away from the animals.
"It's baby season, if you see baby fawns, turkeys and bears of any other wildlife, please do not touch them," the Facebook post reads. "Their mother is close by watching them. She puts them there for a reason. If you have any questions please contact your local animal control officer of NH Fish and Game."
