Bedford Wins State Little League Tournament, Advances to Regionals
Bedford 11/12 year-olds become New Hampshire State Little League Champions by beating Rye 15-7, and advance to New England Regionals.
The second day of the New Hampshire Little League State Tournament saw Bedford crowned 11/12 year-old State Champions with and exciting 15-7 win over Rye in the afternoon.
Rye started strong, putting five runs on the board in the top of the first inning and adding another one when Griffin Matthews sent a ball over the fence in the second inning. After that, Rye struggled to bring runners home even with a late-game double from Will Hindle in the 6th inning.
Cam Fregaeau, Ryeβs starting pitcher, pitched three strikeouts during his two innings in the game, but he could not fend off Bedfordβs batters who rang up five runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a three-run dinger from TJ Crowley. That wasnβt the only high-scoring hit for Bedford, however, as Adam Roy knocked another three-run homer out of the park in the third inning.
