Body Pulled From Merrimack River In Manchester's Millyard

Police and New Hampshire Marine Patrol are investigating a man found in the river deceased in the area known for homeless camps.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Fire and AMR ambulance were dispatched on Wednesday to the Merrimack River in the area of 250 Commercial St. for a water rescue.

Several Manchester firefighters responded with boats and apparatus just before noon. Firefighters quickly located a deceased person in the water and pulled them to shore. Sources indicate the person is an unknown-aged man who was deceased when fire crews arrived.

Manchester police took over the scene, and are being assisted by Marine Patrol, and the state Medical Examiner's Office.

Other Recent Deaths

Around 6:20 a.m., Manchester Fire and AMR responded to the Vine Street parking garage for an unresponsive male in the stairwell.

It was determined the male was deceased and police were notified.

MPD Spokesperson Heather Hamel confirmed it was a man in his 20s who was found deceased. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation but police said the death does not appear to be suspicious.

On Monday, Manchester police confirmed that they responded to an unresponsive vehicle in an area under the Biron Bridge.

The man, who was in his 40s, was determined to be deceased. Police are investigating the death but they say it does not appear to be suspicious. The final cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy performed by the office of the NH Medical Examiner.
