Cars Land On Top Of Each Other Leading To Broken Utility Pole

A two-car crash at Merrimack and Beech Street in Manchester resulted in cars landing on top of each other, and a snapped utility pole.

MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Fire was notified by someone who stopped in the station of a serious accident at the corner of Merrimack and Beech Friday. Fire crews at the station located 2 blocks from the accident responded.

When arriving at the scene they found two vehicles on top of each other and a utility pole snapped. AMR Ambulance and Manchester police responded to the scene at about 7:30 a.m.

All occupants of the vehicles were able to be extricated and assessed for medical needs. Both drivers were evaluated and refused transport by the ambulance.

The Subaru was traveling south on Beech Street when the dark-colored Chevrolet was traveling east on Merrimack and had a stop sign. When the impact occurred the Subaru was pushed into the utility pole breaking the pole.

The intersection will be reduced to one lane of travel for an extended time while crews remove the vehicles, the utility pole is replaced. There are no power outages at this time in the area due to the accident.
